On Saturday June 23 at the Welland Soccer indoor facility, Ontario Soccer partnered with Niagara to host a Long Term Officials Development (LTOD) day. Ontario Soccer was represented by Nicky Pearson, Manager of Match Officials and Tony Camacho, LTOD Lead and CSA National Instructor/Assessor.
The morning consisted of the Match Officials having 2 hours of in-class training on “Recognizing Challenges that endanger the safety of a Player”, which including video analysis of incidents.
In the afternoon, the Match Officials participated in Practical Training exercises that worked on improving movement, positioning and focus as well as Assistant Referee skills and judgement of Offside.
